If you give us your email address

The only personal data this site collects is an email address, and only if you type one into the form and confirm it.

What we do with it. We send you new writing from Tin Chest. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone for their own use.

Where it is stored. With Brevo, an email service based in France, acting as our processor. Data stays in the EU.

How long we keep it. Until you unsubscribe, or until the list is shut down. Every email carries an unsubscribe link and it works immediately.

Your rights. You can ask what we hold, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email <ADDRESS> and we will do it. If we handle that badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If you just read the site

Nothing is collected. There are no analytics, no advertising trackers, no third-party scripts and no cookies. The site is static files served from a CDN.

The archive itself

Tin Chest writes about people who are dead, from public records. Living people are not published without their agreement, and material about them is held back from anything public.
